Frequently Asked Questions

Does a purchase of ROCT Outdoor’s 3-N-1 Mesh Hammock really come with two hammocks?

Yes, this is what sets us apart in the hammock market. ROCT Outdoor’s 3-N-1 Mesh Hammock System comes with both an AirFLOW Mesh hammock and a nylon hammock. Compare our prices to other hammocks on the market, it is clear you are getting two hammocks for the price of one.

As a 3-N-1 product, the hammocks can be hung separately or together offering you amazing versatility to deal with nature’s temperature fluctuations. It is the perfect choice for hammocking with friends, on camping trips or setting up at a cabin or beach house. You know it is true, everyone always wants to be in the hammock so you need more than one!

Is it correct that my purchase comes with all the straps and carabiners necessary to hang both hammocks?

Yes, ROCT Outdoor’s 3-N-1 Mesh Hammock’s arrive “outdoor ready” with 4 carabiners and 4 tree friendly straps. This means you receive all the gear necessary to walk outside and enjoy your hammocks the moment you receive them.

Many hammock manufacturers don’t provide the necessary components and customers are expected to purchase them separately. Providing an outdoor ready system of two hammock is what sets us apart from others in the industry.

Where do I look for questions about set-up of the hammocks?

Thank you for asking as it is important to know how to set up your hammocks to have a safe experience. Please visit the set-up page of this web site for complete instructions and to get all of your questions answered. Click Here

The hammock is cocooning me, what do I do to get the sides to lay flatter?

Yes, if you lay straight in the hammock it will form a sort of cocoon. To eliminate this, shift your body to lay at a slight angle. Doing this will help “open up” the hammock and get the sides to lay flatter.

Additionally, when hanging the hammock try to hang it with just enough slack and tension. Some of the cocooning effect can be eliminated by not having the hammock so taunt, i.e.give the hammock a bit more slack. After hammocking a couple times, you will know just how you like it set.

What is the weight limit on my hammock?

That depends on whether you purchased a single or double. Below are the weight limits based on size, and AirFLOW mesh vs. nylon.

SINGLE Hammocks:
AirFLOW Mesh Weight Limit: 330 lbs
Nylon Weight Limit: 440 lbs

DOUBLE Hammocks:
AirFLOW Mesh Weight Limit: 395 lbs
Nylon Weight Limit: 485 lbs

What is the size difference between the single and a double hammocks?

ROCT Outdoor’s single hammock can comfortably accommodate one person, however some people want a little more room so they opt for a double. A double is recommended for two people to hang together. And don’t forget you are getting TWO hammocks, either singles or doubles depending on your order. Room for friends and family.

The measurements below are for both the AirFLOW Mesh Hammock and Nylon Hammock.

SINGLE Hammock Measurements:
108” long
63” wide

DOUBLE Hammock Measurements:
118” long
78” wide

How do I care for my ROCT Outdoor Hammocks?

We recommend cleaning your hammocks by either hand washing or machine washing in a front loading washer. If you are going to machine wash, first remove the carabiners or other hardware, wash with cold water on the delicate cycle with a mild detergent, like Woolite.

As hammocking often occurs under or around pine trees, sap is a common problem. Spot treat sap residue with baby wipes before washing.

Finally, we don’t recommend putting your hammock in the dryer, hang or lay flat to dry.

What if my knots have come undone on the ends of my hammock and the strap has come out of the channel?

This sometimes can happen when washing your hammock. Basically you need to slide the strap back through the end channel of the hammock. We find that having a stiff tent rib or something similar helps guide it through. Once you have it through, tie the two ends together in a secure knot.

How do I best care for my hammock while using it?

Laying the hammocks on the ground can cause snagging of the material on sharp sticks, pine needles and pinecones. Therefore, it is best to leave the hammocks in their stuff sacks until you have the straps secured on trees. Then pull the hammock out, hold the entire hammock while securing first carabiner, then move to the second carabiner.

UV exposure can cause your hammock to fade become brittle which will lead to tearing. Do not leave your hammock outside when you are done, always put it back in the attached stuff sack and store in a cool, dry space when not in use.

Remember while hammocking, remove any sharp objects from your person, i.e. pocket knives, car keys etc… that can snag or rip your hammock material.

Though dogs love hammocking with their owners, it is easy for their nails to create small tears so use caution. If a small tear does occur, there are several hammock repair kits on the market.
